The Chesapeake Child Development Center is a 63,000-square-foot facility only open to Chesapeake Energy Corporation employees and their dependents. Located at the company’s Oklahoma City headquarters, the facility will open in August 2011. The center, operated through a partnership with Children's Choice Learning Centers, Inc., will have the capacity to accommodate approximately 275 to 300 children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. ROBOTICS SQUAD HAS ONSITE CLASSES FOR CHILDREN AGES 3-5 YEARS ON WEDNESDAYS, 9:30-11:30, 4 TIMES A MONTH.

WHAT'S HAPPENING THIS MONTH:

FEBRUARY

• Students will explore different robot models and learn that a robot has 5 critical parts: 1) power source, 2) job, 3) movement to accomplish the job, 4) sensor to collect data, and 5) a computer brain. Students should also become comfortable finding and working with axles, wheels, gears, bricks, bushings, as well as basic, sturdy brick-building practices. This comes very naturally to some long-time builders; and the others catch up quickly! We also introduce levers and gears and students build his or her own robotic "arms." Robotic Specialist Level I will awarded in March.

Tuition Rates - $55/month and meets 4 times a month (Daily rate of $13.75 for 1 student in 1 class)
