Explorations Preparatory School

Explorations Preparatory School (EPS) is a SACS-CASI accredited, private elementary school and middle school (6th grade 2012, 7th grade 2013, 8th grade 2014) in Flower Mound, TX serving students from Pre-K through 6th grade. UPDATE FOR JANUARY!

Robotics:

We are spending our first month getting to know each other, emphasizing "thinking" and creativity, and having a great time. Topics for January include:

Module 1: What is a Robot?, and

Module 2: Pieces and Parts.

Students will explore different robot models and learn that a robot has 5 critical parts: 1) power source, 2) job, 3) movement to accomplish the job, 4) sensor to collect data, and 5) a computer brain. Students should also be comfortable finding and working with axles, wheels, gears, bricks, bushings, as well as basic, sturdy brick-building practices. This comes very naturally to some long-time builders; and the others catch up quickly! Look for new parts and pieces to be added each week and a Robotics Squad Engineering Design Journal that will be sent home at the end of the module. Robotic Specialist Level I will also be awarded.

Speech:

We will be getting "warmed-up" and comfy with each other and begin learning about different styles of communication. Students will also be introduced to "The Speech Star" Display Board!

Tuition Rates - $45/month and meets 4 times a month (Daily rate of $11.25 for 1 student in 1 class)

1 Student/1 Class= $45/month

1 Student/2 Classes=$80/month
