Socrates
the Man:
Socrates was the
Greek philospher on the forefront of Western Philosophy and creator
of the Socratic Method, which using questions to evoke thought, discussion,
individual answers and insight into complex issues. Socrates believed
the best way for people to live was to focus on self-development rather
than the pursuit of material wealth. He encouraged others to concentrate
on friendships and a sense of true community as the best way for people
to grow together. Socrates also strongly believed that people possess
philosophical and intellectual virtues that should be used in the
search of Good.

Vision
Statement Our goal for Socrates Center is to empower bright and inquisitive
kids with a passion for learning, desire to think and create, the
willingness and analytical reasoning to challenge ideas, and the skills
to succeed in life and to make a difference in the world. Socrates
Center is the premiere enrichment program in the Dallas area, offering
a variety of camps, workshops, competitions and credit and non-credit
courses to homeschool, public school, preschool and adult audiences.
Creative, fun and thought-provoking classes and include Chess, Graphic
Design, Web Design, Digital Filming & Editing, LEGO®, Socrates Scholars®,
Academic Think Team®, Language Development, Creative Writing, Art,
Music & Literature Appreciation, Hands-On Science, History, Geography,
Fashion Design, Public Speaking, Debate, and more!
